Overview
Swimming Lane is a mobile app that helps you track your swimming training sessions. Your account and session data are stored on our backend (Firebase/Google Cloud) so your data can be synced and backed up.
Types of data collected
Data you provide directly
- Account information: email address and user ID (UID).
- Training sessions: date, lane length, laps, and any optional details you enter (total time, style, equipment, breaks notes).
Data collected automatically
- Device information (model, OS version, app version)
- Usage data (app opens, basic screen usage in aggregate)
- Crash data and diagnostics (error logs, stack traces)
Third-party services we use
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — sign-in
- Cloud Firestore (Google) — storage of sessions and aggregates
- Cloud Functions (Google) — server-side rule enforcement (e.g., quotas)
- Firebase Analytics (Google) — aggregated usage
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash diagnostics
Purposes of processing
- Provide the service and sync your data

Retention
- Account and training session data: kept for as long as your account is active.
- Analytics and crash diagnostics: retained according to providers’ retention policies.
Account deletion
You can delete your account in the app. In some cases, you may need to re-authenticate before deleting your account (for security).
Children’s privacy
Swimming Lane is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Latest update” date above.
