## Overview
Life Dots is a minimalist “memento mori” application designed to help you visualize your life in weeks.
* **Privacy-First:** All personal data (birth date, country, and gender) is stored **locally on your device**.
* **No Accounts:** The app does not require you to sign in, and we do not have a backend server to store your personal information.
* **Optional Diagnostics:** Some anonymous technical data may be collected for crash diagnostics only if you explicitly opt-in via the app settings.
## Types of data collected
### Data you provide directly (Stored Locally)
* **Personal information**: Birth date, country of residence, and gender.
* This data is used solely to calculate life expectancy and render your life grid. **It is stored only on your device** and is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
### Data collected automatically by third-party SDKs
If enabled in settings, personal data may be collected automatically by third-party services for stability monitoring:
* Device information (device model, OS version, app version)
* Crash data and diagnostics (e.g., error logs, stack traces)
## Mode and place of processing
### Methods of processing
Data processing is carried out using IT-enabled tools strictly related to the purposes described in this document. Since personal data is stored locally, the processing occurs entirely on the User’s device.
### Place
Personal data is stored on the User’s own device. If crash reporting is enabled, diagnostic data may be processed on the servers of our service providers (e.g., Sentry/Google).
### Retention time
* **Local data**: Kept on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete all data at any time using the “Reset” option in the app settings or by uninstalling the app.
* **Diagnostic data**: Retained according to the third-party providers’ own retention policies.
## The purposes of processing
* Provide the Life Dots visualization and calculate life expectancy statistics.
* Improve stability and investigate technical issues (via optional crash reporting).
* Comply with legal obligations.
## Third-party services we use
### Error Tracking (Optional)
**Sentry / Firebase Crashlytics**
These services help us identify and fix crashes in real-time. This is only active if you enable “Crash Reporting” in the app settings.
*Data processed*: device information; OS version; IP address (for approximate location of crash); stack traces.
## Information on opting out
* **Diagnostics:** You can disable crash reporting at any time via the “Accessibility” section in the app settings.
* **Data Deletion:** You can wipe all local data by using the “Delete all data and restart” button in settings.
## Children’s privacy
Life Dots is a general audience app. Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, we do not knowingly collect or store information from children. All data entered remains on the child’s or parent’s device.
