Overview

PhotoToss helps you review photos on your device and move unwanted photos to your device trash when you confirm. Photos are processed on your phone. We do not upload your photo library to PhotoToss servers.

Types of Data collected

Data processed on your device

  • Photos: with your permission, PhotoToss reads photos from your library to display the swipe deck, mark photos as kept or tossed, and move confirmed batches to the system trash (Android) or Recently Deleted (iOS).
  • Local app state: identifiers of photos you kept or marked for toss, session stats, and onboarding completion are stored locally on your device.

Data collected automatically

  • Analytics: aggregated app usage events via Firebase Analytics (e.g. onboarding, toss, keep, review actions).
  • Diagnostics: crash reports and error logs via Firebase Crashlytics.
  • Technical metadata: device model, OS version, app version, and locale as part of analytics/crash services.

Purposes of processing

  • Service provision: to let you review, keep, or toss photos on your device.
  • Analytics: to understand feature usage and improve the app.
  • Stability: to detect crashes and fix bugs.

Third-party services we use

Google Play / Apple App Store

Store platforms may process purchase, download, and account metadata according to their own policies. PhotoToss MVP does not include in-app purchases.

Data retention

  • Photos: remain on your device and in system trash / Recently Deleted according to your OS settings (typically ~30 days in trash).
  • Local app data: kept on device until you clear app data or uninstall.
  • Analytics and diagnostics: retained per Firebase default retention settings.

Your choices and controls

  • You can deny or revoke photo library access in device settings; the app cannot work without access.
  • You can restore photos from system trash (Android) or Photos → Recently Deleted (iOS) while the OS retention window applies.
  • You can uninstall the app to remove local app data.

Children's privacy

PhotoToss is a general audience app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

International transfers
