Overview

  • AI Bedtime Stories is a mobile app that generates personalized bedtime stories for children.
  • The app may require you to sign in (for example with Google or Apple) so you can save and sync your stories across devices.
  • We store account and story data on our backend servers, not only on your device.
  • Some data about how you use the app is collected automatically through third-party SDKs for analytics, crash diagnostics and advertising (in the free version).
  • If you purchase a subscription, payment and billing are handled by the app stores (Google Play / Apple App Store) and our subscription management provider (e.g. RevenueCat). We do not see or store your full payment card details.

Types of data collected

Data you provide directly

  • Account information: when you sign in, we may receive your email address, name and profile picture from the sign-in provider (e.g. Google or Apple).
  • Child-related information: the child’s first name, pronouns, and simple preferences (e.g. favourite characters, themes, locations) that you enter to personalize stories.
  • Saved stories and settings: the stories you choose to save, and your basic app preferences (e.g. language, story length).

Please do not enter sensitive information in free-text fields (for example, health information, full address, or anything that can uniquely identify your child outside of the app).

Data collected automatically by the app and third-party SDKs

Personal data may be collected automatically by the app and by third-party services integrated in AI Bedtime Stories. This may include:

  • Device information (device model, OS version, app version)
  • Usage data (app opens, session duration, screens visited in aggregate)
  • Approximate location inferred from IP address
  • Advertising identifiers (e.g. AAID / IDFA) in the free, ad-supported version
  • Crash data and diagnostics (e.g. error logs, stack traces)

Purchase and subscription data

  • Information about your purchases (for example, the product purchased, date, country, and store receipt) as provided by Google Play, Apple App Store and our subscription management provider.
  • We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Payments are processed by the app stores and their payment processors.

Methods of processing

Data processing is carried out using IT-enabled tools and organizational procedures strictly related to the purposes described in this document. In addition to the Owner, in some cases the data may be accessible to certain persons in charge (administration, legal, system administration) or external parties (such as hosting providers, analytics providers, subscription management providers, advertising providers) appointed, if necessary, as data processors.

Place

Processing occurs at the Owner’s operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. Depending on your location, data transfers may involve transferring your data to a country other than your own. For details, please see the privacy policies of the third-party services listed below.

Retention time

  • Account, stories and preferences: kept for as long as you have an active account. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
  • Subscription information: kept for as long as necessary to manage your subscription, comply with legal obligations and handle disputes.
  • Third-party SDK data: retained according to the third-party providers’ own retention policies. Please refer to their privacy policies.

The purposes of processing

  • Provide the AI Bedtime Stories service and generate personalized stories for your child
  • Sync saved stories and settings across your devices
  • Provide the free, ad-supported version of the app (where applicable)
  • Manage purchases and subscriptions for the premium version
  • Monitor app usage in aggregate to understand performance and improve the app
  • Improve stability and investigate crashes and technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities

Third-party services we use

Authentication — Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple

We use third-party sign-in providers so you can log in easily and securely.

  • Data processed: identifiers provided by the sign-in provider (e.g. subject ID), email address, name, profile picture (where available).
  • For more information, please refer to Google’s and Apple’s own privacy policies.

Hosting and backend services

We host our backend and databases with reputable cloud providers (for example, Google Cloud / Firebase). These providers may process:

  • Account data, story content and preferences
  • Authentication tokens
  • Technical logs and events

Advertising — AdMob (Google)

In the free version, AI Bedtime Stories may display ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may use advertising identifiers, cookies and similar technologies to deliver, measure and improve ads, including interest-based ads where permitted.

  • Data processed: advertising identifiers (AAID / IDFA), usage data, device information, IP address, cookies/Trackers.

Analytics — Google Analytics for Firebase (Google)

Firebase Analytics provides aggregated app measurement (for example, app opens and session duration). We do not configure custom events to track every individual interaction.

  • Data processed: usage data, device information, app instance identifiers, advertising identifiers where available.

Crash reporting — Firebase Crashlytics (Google)

Crashlytics helps us understand crashes and stability issues so we can fix them.

  • Data processed: crash logs, diagnostics, device information, app instance identifier.

Subscription management — RevenueCat (and app stores)

We may use RevenueCat to simplify subscription management across platforms, in combination with the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

  • Data processed: anonymised app user identifiers, purchase receipts, product identifiers, subscription status, country and platform information.
  • Full payment card details are not visible to us and are processed by the app stores and their payment providers.

Information on opting out

  • You can limit or reset advertising identifiers and opt out of personalised ads using your device settings.
  • You can disable analytics or ad personalisation where your device or platform offers such controls.
  • Where available, we honour user-enabled Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for relevant processing.

Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK/CH)

Where required by law, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract: processing necessary to provide the AI Bedtime Stories service, including account, stories and subscription management.
  • Consent: use of analytics identifiers and advertising identifiers, where such consent is required.
  • Legitimate interests: ensuring app stability and protecting our service against abuse, provided that these interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Children’s privacy

AI Bedtime Stories is designed to be used by parents or guardians for their children. The app is not intended for children to use on their own without adult supervision.

  • We collect only the minimum child-related information needed to generate stories (for example, first name and simple preferences).
  • We do not knowingly collect contact details directly from children.
  • If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data without a parent or guardian’s involvement, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Your privacy rights

EEA/UK/Switzerland

Subject to conditions and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request rectification of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format)
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

US state privacy laws (e.g. California)

Where applicable, you may have rights including:

  • Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we process
  • Request deletion of personal information
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising where these concepts apply
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Be free from discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

While we do not sell personal information for money, some disclosures to analytics or advertising partners might be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain state laws. You can limit such processing using the controls described above.

International transfers

Third-party service providers may process data in multiple countries. Where required, such transfers take place subject to appropriate safeguards (for example, Standard Contractual Clauses) as described in those providers’ own privacy policies.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, modification or destruction of data. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using platform-provided secure storage where available. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements or operational needs. When we do so, we will update the “Latest update” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
